Having less luggage is ideal for our trips to off-the-beaten-path destinations. The thought of lugging a massive suitcase around multiple destinations on a trip seems like a horror story - especially if you're trying to hit multiple countries or cities in one trip. Bringing just a carry-on will save you tons of time, at the airport, and getting from place to place. However, that means you need to be conscious of what you're packing: it's easy to overpack, but with a smaller suitcase means everything in it has to serve a purpose!
If you're like us, your clothing takes up most of your luggage, and for good reason. You never know what you may need when you're abroad. What if theres just the perfect outing for cowboy boots, we just need to pack them! Thank god for Splice Clothing for solving one of our biggest packing issues. Splice creates lightweight, functional, reversible apparel for adventure loving women. Their clothing is easy to pack and will take up half of what it normally does in your luggage, making it perfect for adventurer-lovers who are travelling with just their carry-on. Here at Origin Travels we head to some pretty off-the-beaten-path destinations, and Splice's clothing is functional and cute!
The last thing you need on your travels is your phone running out of battery while you're in the middle of street trying to figure out what direction your GPS is telling you to go in. We hunted down the perfect mini portable charger for you that will take up minimal room and keep your electronics charged and ready to go! If you're traveling to unfamiliar destinations its a good idea to always have your phone charged just in case.
3. A Kindle
Between flights, bus rides, and (hopefully) getting some time to lounge pool or beach-side, you may find yourself a bit bored and wanting some entertainment. We'll admit, we may be chronic over-packers, filling up our luggage with 3 books, an iPad, our laptop, AND our phone, which is why bringing a Kindle is a huge space saver. You'll be able to download all your desired books in one place without having to stress about how much space it's taking up or how heavy its going to make your backpack.
When you're traveling with just a carry-on, remember less is more! Having reversible clothing gives you more space for your other necessities and is great in case you pick up some unexpected souvenirs. If you're anything like us and you're heading to some off-the-beaten-path locations, making sure you aren't overpacking is a huge advantage. We've all been there, lugging around a backpack that's filled to the brim or a suitcase that is so full it almost didn't close. It's easy to overpack when you think of all the things you may need, but when your traveling and off adventuring you realize how quickly you don't need much!
