Day 1 | Pick up and drive to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary | After a quick briefing, our ranger will lead us into the savannah grasslands where we will watch the rhinos and learn about conservation efforts in the region. Watch the sun set over Murchison Falls, the world’s most powerful waterfall
Day 2 |Murchison Falls National Park | Embark on a morning game drive and keep your eyes peeled for night dwellers (leopards and lions and hyenas) before they retreat to coolness in the afternoon. Cruise to the bottom of the waterfall for breathtaking views and aquatic wildlife (hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds).
Day 3 | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest | After a leisurely breakfast, take a quick flight over to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and spend the afternoon unwinding at peaceful forest side lodge
Day 4 | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest | Early morning wake up call to head to the park office for briefing and then follow the rangers through narrow forest paths, listening to bird sounds and searching for gorilla families. Spend the day trekking through the forest and quietly observing these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Watch the gorillas eat, groom and play!
Note: trekking can take 6 hours through tiring forest trails. A good physical condition is recommended.
Day 5 | Lake Bunyoni | Embark on a scenic drive to Lake Bunyoni. After lunch, chose from a range of activities including swimming, canoeing, zip lining, hiking or visiting a women’s group in a nearby community
Day 6 | Lake Bunyoni | Start the day with an excursion to Joshua’s Island for a taste of local life. Learn to make a rolex, watch how a traditional millet beer is made while hanging out at a local bar and in a homestead. Additional options: hike, quad bikes, swimming in the lake
